In this post I thought through what superiorities and inferiorities of integrating information systems can bring to businesses and the society. Without any doubt, the productive usage of information systems will give many opportunities to companies and dominance to their business. Sometimes it can form new job environments but on the other hand it can cause some group of employees unemployed.

Communication: With the aid of information technologies; instant messaging, social media, emails, video, and voice calls becomes instantaneous, cheaper, and dynamic.
Globalization and Cultural Gap: By executing information systems we can bring down the geographical, linguistic and some cultural boundaries. Sharing the intelligence, knowledge, communication and rapport between different countries, languages and cultures becomes much easier.

This means that businesses can be open all the time without ever closing while making sales from different countries conveniently. It also means customers can have goods delivered to their doorsteps without moving an inch.
Creation of New Jobs: Many new and interesting employment opportunities like Information Systems Manager, Computer Network Architect, Information Security Analyst, Database Administrator, Computer Systems Analyst, Web Designers, Computer Programmers, Software and Hardware Developers are created with the help of Information Technology.
Cost Effectiveness and Productivity:The IS application improves company operations efficiently and boost the supply of information to decision-makers thereby gaining a competitive advantage. Information Systems has a positive impact on productivity but they there are some obstructions faced by systems users which are directly tied to lack of guidance and poor systems performance because of system spread

Unemployment and Lack of Job Security: Implementing information systems saves time during the execution of tasks and some labor mechanic works because most paperwork’s can be processed immediately while financial transactions are automatically calculated. As technology enhances, most tasks are no longer performed manually by human employees because they are carried out by computer systems. An example is automated phone systems replacing live receptionists in many organizations. Industry experts believes that the internet has made job security a big issue as technology upgrades every day. This means that one must be constantly learning every update to secure his job.
Dominant Culture: As information technology made the world a global village, it has also contributed to a strong culture dominating a frail culture. Languages too have become outweighed, with English becoming the primary mode of communication for business and everything else.
Security Issues: Scammers and hackers get access to identities while corporate renegades target sensitive company data. Such data can include vendor information, bank documentations, intellectual property, and personal data on company operation. The hackers disperse the information over the Internet, sell it to rival companies or use it to damage the company’s image.
Execution Expenses: To amalgamate information systems, it requires good amount of cost in a case of software, hardware, and operators because they will be hired, purchased, and supported. Employees need to be trained with unaccustomed information technology and software.
Information systems contribute to the efficient running of organizations and have been showing exponential growth in each decade. Today’s information technology has enormously and remarkably improved quality of life. By understanding the superiorities and inferiorities it can bring, we must live up to its standard.
